  • […] Mingo West (Beaverton) – If you find yourself on the West side, heading towards The Beav, check out the popular Caffe Mingo’s sister restaurant – Mingo West. It’s a larger place with indoor / outdoor seating — just as cozy as its urban sister and even nicer in the summer months. Penne al Sugo di Carne (beef braised in Chianti and espresso tossed with penne pasta) is outstanding, but everything you order will be perfectly grilled/seared/baked and full of flavor. Save room for prunes poached in nebbiolo, port and cinnamon with housemade mascarpone or olive cake with honeyed mascarpone. Leave feeling so full of epicurean gratitude, you pay the babysitter twice their normal rate. […]

For those of you who know me and the way I interact, this blog should feel fairly familiar. For those new to the restaurant, and me in particular, I'm just a guy who loves what he does, enjoys balancing work with life, food with wine and sun with sun. Read or don't read. But have some fun, eh? And smile.

Great atmosphere (especially in the summer when the cafe tables are out by the fountain), solid upscale happy hour in the bar, excellent wine list, and VERY, very good Italian food (think actual Italy, not Olive Garden Italy) that makes you forget you're not in downtown Portland.
Well worth it when we want downtown PDX food and ambiance quality without fighting 26 or parking headaches

Mingo is a delicate balance between formal and causal. The service was beyond exceptional, with the wait staff answering all of my questions in a timely and knowledge manner...The wine list was complete, but not exhaustive. The food was presented in a simple, straightforward manner.

Their delicious dishes artfully prepared and presented with fresh ingredients from local farmers. The daily made ravioli melts in your mouth and is absolutely superb. If you get on their newsletter list, you find out about all kinds of cool, innovative events to bring the community together. The wine list is amazing and so are their cocktails. Lastly, and very importantly, the service is TOPS. It's definitely a valued treasure in Beaverton...the atmosphere is very hip, it's especially enjoyable when it's nice enough to open the big garage type doors and sit outside.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant. So much so that we got married here on a Saturday in September. Guests rated our wedding the best wedding ever attended. Thanks to MiNGO for planning everything.

We love this place. The use of fresh ingredients and a changing menu makes this a real go to place for us. Service is consistently good with great recommendations on the specials. Good place for a good dinner.
